Everything works fine except the dynamic adding of the class “selected”. For some reason, the color and backround are not applied, whereas other attributes are (text-decoration will work). Not sure why just those two aren’t working within the class.

ddsmoothmenu-v ul li a.selected

I’m having the trouble with IE 6. IE 7 and 8 will work, but I’m supporting users on 6 (not my choice). Just looking for a quick work around.

it works fine for me on thesis_17.
i have not tried to customize it with css yet tho. have you got any hints for customizing with css?

i am using theis_17 and my after following your instructions my site is crashing and is not loading at all kindly let us know if it has problem with the thesis_17 as after trying everything that i can do i think this is the only problem why your menus are not working

I don’t like to bother you, but after following the steps very carefully, my site crashes when I paste the three functions into custom_functions.php. I open your for-custom_funtions.php file and select all, then copy and then I past into the end of my custom_functions.php file.
I use Thesis_17, and the latest WP update.
I browse with Firefox. 27 in Mac.
can you help me with this? I successfully put in your css multi-level nav bar. I really like it.

Almost all of the menu systems I have seen — aside from Thesis and a couple of WordPress plugins — require that changes to menu items be made in the code. It is fortunate, though, that the menu changes rarely after the initial setup so the need to dive into the code is limited.

I am aware that having to use code is a weak point in most menuing systems, including mine. I am working on making a WordPress admin panel for editing this and my other menus, so the user will not have to go to the code to make changes. As soon as I have done this I will upgrade the tutorials on Thesis Theme Tools.

Hi, Robert,

Javascript support is built into all the modern browsers — unless the user has turned it off. If the user has it turned off the menu with its main items will appear, but no dropdowns.

Doesn’t this sorta defeat the purpose of a CMS by hard-coding your nav? Am I missing something? Otherwise, this is exactly what I need.
