Mike, I don't suppose you could share the WP call that returns a list of posts in a tag, would you?

That would be really sweet to put into the conditional logic you show above for use in blog series!

Hi,
I love your website, it is very informative and gives great value.

Is there a way to put this as a side menu and not a top page menu?
Similar to a drop-down menu that show subcategories only after you click on the parent page

Dear Mike, Thanks for your detailed tutorial. I am new into WP and Thesis and am trying to ad some functions to my website. This might be the reason that I must have done something wrong when I tried to implement the contextual submenu. I can't figure out what I've done wrong. I thought I had created 5 subpages underneath the tabs 'home' and 'Koning Communicatie' (they both have no particular page ID, they're the same). But, alas, it's all empty apart from a blue line (under Home). I think I stared for at least 24 hrs to the manual, but can't figure it out. I would really appreciate if you would tell me what I have done wrong. Again, I am new to all this. So sorry if I miss a point! Kind regards, Florine

Hi Mathias. Thanks for the comment!

I have added new code to the function for submenu items that will keep the parent tab selected. If you missed it, check the code above for the updates.

You will have to have a function for each of the child pages that will be found by the parent function. If you don't need any links in the child page submenu, and only want to keep the parent tab selected, just remove the part of the function code dealing with the list. You will still have to register the child page in the selection function, however.

Hope this helps!

I answered this question by email, but for the record I'll repeat my answer.

You're not doing anything wrong, just leaving something out. Each page that you want a submenu on must have its own function with a list of pages to go to. It also must be registered in the Contextual Submenus selection function.

Hi, Sean,

I can think of no reason why links to anchors on the same page wouldn't work. The links may reload your page, however.

Double-check that you've put the links in correctly. Some errors there more than likely are the source of your problem.

Hello, everybody!

I'm sorry for the delay in answering your comments. Life has been one adventure after another for the last month, and I've fallen way behind in everything.

However, I receive notice of every comment, and I've answered the more desperate calls for help by email.

I'm gradually catching up, and promise I won't fall so far behind again!
