Hello Mike,

Another great article just what I needed. However, I was wondering if you could provide some CSS example codes for the functions that fix margins, padding, and element placing in the blog body and header?

thanks for any help.

The browser detection software only detects which version of IE you have -- it doesn't correct any problems. So you must include code in the functions to fix the problems in IE.

Most of the IE fixes that I have to do involve the way it handles margins, padding and element placement, which is very different from the way all other browsers handle them. The browser detection software allows me to provide code to fix the problems for IE, while at the same time preserving the way the page looks for all other browsers.

If IE was a living breathing thing I would've strangled it a LONG time ago. Thank you for this post. Microsoft really needs to kick their butts in gear and fix this IE nonsense.

I too have long left IE in the dust. Unfortunately for me I can't make my visitors do so by force. Till then I'll have to keep editing my CSS codes for both browser types.

Wouldn't it be nice, if there was a program that could suggest CSS IE fix code based on the browser you used to make your site look the way you want?

Or better yet, IE plays in the same sandbox? Do they realize I left them long ago due to their stubborness?

Just sayin....
